We had another Tea at Three party.
This one was at Blank Space Art Gallery, and in celebration of the new Rare Teas collection by Jo Malone London.
Our friends at In Pursuit of Tea kindly gave us teas to go with each Rare Tea fragrance. Kathy made cold brews, and we served them in wine glasses because it felt festive and especially appropriate for a party in an art gallery. Isn't it nice how well the colors of the teas matched the colors of the perfumes? I was totally mesmerized by how similar some of the fragrances and their corresponding teas smelled, and I still kind of am -- their perfumers worked some serious magic.
Since the fragrances and the teas were the focus here, I kept the food simple. I made two kinds of madeleines (classic and cocoa with tonka bean), strawberry rose jam, and picked up strawberries and cherries from the greenmarket before heading to the gallery. The Oolong fragrance has notes of tonka bean and cocoa, so I thought it'd be nice to use them together in some madeleines (and I was right, I think those were the favorite).
An art gallery to ourselves, pretty tea, sweet treats, and beautiful scents make for a very dreamy afternoon. We also got to wear fun clothes from Lie SangBong.
